Wednesday, Day #1 post surgery:
Was a good day, I did well trying to walk, ate slowly, drank some, rested. I even got really energetic outside and started chasing a sound I heard. Got to spend the night upstairs like always. Resembling some sort of partial normal routine.
Thursday, Day #2 post surgery:
Not as good a day. Had difficulties trying to urinate, no bowel movements as yet. Mom went to work and when she returned I still couldn’t pee and was feeling very anxious. Off to the Vet’s office we went. My blood work is good but still couldn’t pee. We decided to take a walk around the animal hospital to see if I could pee, I took time to have a bowel movement but still no pee. I had to have a catheter and even though I didn’t like it, I feel much better now. It’s storming here, so I am resting with mom waiting for the thunder to stop. I am hoping for a better day tomorrow cause I know that when I am upset so is my mom. While I was at the Vets he also checked my incision and gave us the ok to leave the bandages off. I’m not sure Mom was ready for that but for now I am wearing t-shirts. We will get thru this together….one day at a time.
